What is the Diocesan Services Appeal (DSA) ?The Diocesan Services Appeal is an annual fund raising campaign that provides virtually all the funds needed for the operation of the diocese.
"Your light must shine before others so that they can see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)
February 2008The generous spirit of giving is very evident in the people of this Diocese and is reflected in the services and ministries that uniquely define our Catholic people. It is through these services that we share the marvelous story of our Catholic faith. In order to continue this pattern of service and ministry, it is necessary to meet ordinary daily expenses. It is for this reason that I again reach out to you this Lent with the Diocesan Services Appeal. Lent marks a time of sacrifice and giving. And I am asking you to sacrifice and to give to the needs of our Diocese. The monies from the DSA go directly to support the operating expenses of our Diocese. If you look at the “Distribution of Diocesan Funds” in the next columns, you will see over 20 areas of works and activities that call for your financial help. It is essential that we meet these financial goals so that we may continue our services. I have always been grateful, and never disappointed, by the generosity of our people. Your spirit of giving in time, talent and treasure is a blessing that is visible now and that in the long run will result in a strong and vibrant Diocese of the future. May we continue to walk together in the mission to which we have been called …the mission to spread the “good news” that Jesus is indeed in our midst.
