The primary function of the Diocese of Victoria is to provide and assist in the ministry of its people. Often this requires (especially for Catholic Schools and Youth Ministry) the transportation of children, adults and property to various locations the diocese, state and occasionally out-of-state. Because of this the Bishop has deemed it necessary to implement a comprehensive Transportation Policy. 

• All Priests and Clergy
• All Diocesan Employees
• All Volunteers

The main purpose of the policy is to make sure that the people of the diocese and their property are travelling with safe and responsible drivers. All drivers will be subject to a driving records check. A responsible business owner would want to know the his or her employees have safe driving records and the Transportation Policy will provide that knowledge. 

Additionally, in recent years we've seen an alarming increase in litigation brought against non-profit organizations involved, directly and indirectly, in automobile accidents. Adherence  to the policy will help protect our drivers, parishes and the diocese itself.
